In the South, most people say “cut grass” instead of “mow grass.” Cut sounds a bit more aggressive and more accurately reflects our feeling toward vegetative maintenance after a long growing season.
I felt the same way about this! We seemed to mow a lot later this year. Usually we’re done by mid-October but it was like another week or two after that this year. Now on to picking up leaves and starting to feed hay season. It’s a never ending saga no matter what time of year it is.
I mowed for the last time this season shortly after our recent frost. I was amazed how much of my “lawn” was no longer green, but short and brown (i.e. weeds). But happy to put the mower away.

It is always something, that's for sure.

Yep, same here--I still have some leaves to fall that I mow in lieu of raking, but will be glad to soon park the mower for winter.
