I absolutely love this! I’ll have to come back to suggest additions to your list but I’d at least say livestock’s main job is to stress their owners out in exchange for the goods they provide.

Yep, I agree, that is a very good definition of livestock 😉

What farmer hasn’t experienced the unexpected blowout of a hydraulic hose, exploding with a spray of hot oil all over the machinery and tractor? This was especially memorable before tractor cabs. (!)

Yes, I've been experiencing that a lot lately as my tractor with loader is finally showing its age. Every few months an old hydraulic hose is bursting. At the rate I'm going, I'll have all of them replaced in a few years. Thankfully, none have sprayed on me yet, but it has been irritating nonetheless

Pendulum spreader—I use mine to distribute native seed and let hoof action tromp the seeds into the soil. But more frequently used to spread fertilizer or salt icy roads.

I've never had a pendulum spreader--we've always just had broadcast spreaders, or "slingers" as most folks call them around here. I've used a lot of hoof action to tromp in clover seeds over the years. Good one!
